If we recall the cricket history of Kingswood College which has a life span of more than a century, Mr. R. Blake has taken 8 wickets for 7 runs against the match between Dharmaraja College in 1916. Also, during the Cricket match between Kingswood College amd Dharmaraja College held in 1918, our team was able to win 9 runs, gaining the first cricket victory. In 1951, Kingswood gentleman Mahinda Silva who represented our school was able to achieve a century during the Big Match against Dharmaraja College. In 1958, Kingswood gentleman C M Fernando achieved the award for the best player and Kingswood gentleman H.N.A. Gamage achievedthe Runners up award for the best bowler. There is an innumerable number of achievements recorded by our gentlemen throughout the history of Kingswood Cricket for which we are incrediblyproud! Kingswood gentleman Kaveesha Gamage who is an under 13 player was able to achieve the Island’s 2nd place by scoring a century against St. Sylvester’s College in 2019. Kingswood gentleman Hansathika Rajanayake grabbed 10 wickets playing against Dharmaraja College in the same year. The current captain Menuka Dissanayake of the under 15 team is an all rounder capturing all three postures. During the under 15 matches held in 2019, Kingswood gentleman Thenuka Vishan obtained a century, Kingswood gentleman Chanuka: a half century and ultimately winning 2 great matches. Kingswood gentlemanMenuka Pushpattiya played in the under 19 team and was able to record exceptional achievementsin 2019.
